Tinder, LoveScout24, and Zweisam Will Let Users Show Their Vaccine Status

DALLAS, September 2, 2021 -- Match Group (NASDAQ: MTCH) announced today that it is working with the Austrian Federal Chancellery to promote COVID-19 vaccinations across its leading Austrian brands including Tinder, LoveScout24, and Zweisam. The apps will run ads for the government’s “Österreich impft” Campaign, share vaccine resources, and offer vaccination badges for Austrian singles to display on their profiles to show their support for the vaccine.

The cooperation is primarily intended to motivate the younger target groups to use COVID-19 vaccinations.

Members will start seeing the banners and incentives starting this week, and the campaign will run for six weeks.

"Match Group brands are honored to support the Austrian government's vaccine advocacy effort," said Alexandre Lubot, CEO of Match Group EMEA and APAC, "Widespread vaccination is a crucial element in getting back to our normal lives as quickly as possible. We’re encouraging our members to get their shots so they can once again meet in real life and make meaningful connections."

For many singles on Match Group’s dating platforms, COVID-19 vaccinations are seen as a necessary step to be able to date safely in person. Users this year have proactively posted about their vaccine status and say they view this as an important component of compatibility. Tinder has noticed that vaccinations have become a popular talking point among singles; mentions of “vaxxed” status in member bios almost tripled from March to June in Austria.

“Right now, in the transition from summer to autumn, it is important to further increase the number of people vaccinated, especially among younger Austrians. The cooperation with Match Group therefore comes at exactly the right time and we are very thankful for the great support and the opportunity to advertise our campaign assets for free! It will reach many Austrians in a positive environment and will hopefully motivate them to get vaccinated even more,” said Lukas Lechner, who is responsible for the organization and campaign execution of the “Austria vaccinates” initiative, delighted with the cooperation.

Below are examples of vaccine promotion campaigns launching across Match Group in Austria:

Tinder - Members will be able to add a variety of stickers to their profiles including “Vaccinated” or “Vaccination Save Lives” to help them stand out among potential matches starting at the beginning of September. Tinder will also launch a “Vaccine Center” which will link to resources to educate members about vaccinations. Tinder is the world’s most popular app for meeting new people.

LoveScout24 & Zweisam- Members will be able to add a new badge to their profiles to display their vaccine status to help them stand out on the app. LoveScout24’s AI-enabled Dating Coach, Lara, will also encourage users to get their vaccination badge. LoveScout24 is the place in Austria for daters who want to start something real. Zweisam is the dating platform for Austrian singles over 50.
