Match Group announced that Catherine Chen, Chief Program Officer of Polaris, has joined the Match Group Advisory Council (MGAC) today. She will be joining the group of experts and advocates involved in the study and prevention of sexual assault, abuse, online harassment and related issues.

Catherine Chen will be joining the MGAC in an effort to combat human trafficking and prevent misuse of our products. Polaris is a nonprofit organization that works to combat and prevent modern-day slavery and human trafficking. For more than a decade, Polaris has run the National Human Trafficking Hotline, connecting more than 50,000 victims and survivors to help and support.

She is currently the Chief Program Officer at Polaris. Prior to joining Polaris, she led the Human Trafficking and Labor Migration team at Humanity United, building an extensive program to address the trafficking and exploitation of South Asian migrant workers. She also created the Partnership for Freedom, a multi-million dollar public-private partnership launched by President Barack Obama to spur innovation in combating human trafficking.

In addition to Chen, the Match Group Advisory Council includes: Scott Berkowitz, Founder of RAINN; Tarana Burke, Founder of the Me Too Movement; John F. Clark, President and CEO of the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC); Julie Cordua, CEO of Thorn; Yolanda Edrington, COO of the National Sexual Violence Resource Center; Dr. Judy L. Postmus, Founder of the Center on Violence Against Women & Children at Rutgers University. The council meets bi-annually to evaluate company policies and solicit recommendations on how to improve safety on our platforms.
