Our Actions in Response to Reports of Violence
Écrit par Match Group

At Match Group, we believe that everyone should have a safe and positive dating experience. This is fundamental to our values, and to our success as a business.

We are a portfolio of several major dating brands spanning various languages across numerous countries. In recent years, we have been working toward uniform policies across all of our companies, so anyone using our apps will receive expert-informed and consistent responses on safety issues. That process is ongoing and will continue to evolve and improve.

We know there have been questions about our safety responses – particularly with respect to instances of sexual assault – and we want to be open and transparent about where we stand. We also want to acknowledge where we have work to do.

For survivors who report a sexual assault or other violent crime on any of our apps, we take the following steps:

  • We respond to your report and let you know we have received it and that we will be taking appropriate action.
  • We remove any accounts that have been reported for violent crimes on any of our brands.
  • We prioritize working with law enforcement to help bring these perpetrators to justice.
  • We collaborate with our external partners in the safety/sexual assault space to inform our responses and make sure our users have the latest and most effective support resources.

We also heard that survivors who come forward to report bad actors are frustrated with our communication around actions taken in response. Now, if a survivor asks our care team about whether a violent perpetrator has been removed from our platform in response to their report, we will let them know.

And we will continue to do more. As technology evolves, we’re committed to developing and deploying new tools and methods to deliver a safer, more trusted experience for our users. We will continue to work with our partners in our safety advisory council to leverage their expertise to help inform our platforms, and to help develop support resources and tools for victims. We continue to build out our safety team to work with law enforcement and victims support services. And we will continue to be vocal about supporting laws that are designed to make the internet safer.

As a leading voice in online dating, we believe we have a responsibility to further this important conversation. To all of the survivors who have come forward, we thank you for your advocacy and your bravery. Please know that we are acting on concerns you have voiced and that you are making a difference.
