Hi there,
I just wanted to tell you my husband and I’s story. We met on Tinder in January of 2017, and had our first date on February 1st, 2017. I honestly had been on many Tinder dates and was absolutely sure I was meeting a fling/one night stand to get a free meal and have some fun.
Well, more than 3 years and sooo many dates and memories later, I am married to my Tinder guy, Kenny! We both can be a little awkward and are so thankful for Tinder and its role in helping us meet and fall in love. I have never met anyone like Kenny, he is kind and funny and loving and so handsome. Thank you for creating this medium that changed my entire life.
Kenny proposed on a vacation to Jamaica in April of 2019. We got home and started wedding planning for a March 21, 2020 wedding with 200 people, but a huge wrench was thrown at our plans in August 2019, when our wedding venue, NOAH’s, went out of business and declared bankruptcy after running a ponzi scheme. Watch us discussing it on the news!
We picked ourselves back up after losing some money, sleep, and dreams, and found a new wedding venue. Of course, 6 days before our wedding the CDC recommended no large gatherings, and we ended up postponing our celebration until October 2020. Since we had the marriage license, we got married in my parents’ living room on our date anyways, knowing we’d get to celebrate with our family in October.
Unfortunately, we know October won’t be totally safe, and now our venue is closing due to COVID bankruptcy (again!) so who knows when or if we’ll have the big celebration we’ve dreamed of. Regardless, we are husband and wife, all thanks to Tinder.
The Olsons exist because of you, and despite all of our hurdles, we are so thankful. If you’ve read this far, thank you so much for that as well! Truly, we can not say enough for how Tinder changed our lives.
Each success story is told by the couples in their own words.
