Hi There!

I’m in a bridal group on Facebook and some fellow brides posted that we should send our success story to this email! So here it goes…

My name is Magdalena and my fiancee’s name is Annie! We swiped right on each other in early January of 2019 and really haven’t looked back since. We actually matched on a number of apps, but Tinder was the first! We went on our first date after about a week of chatting back and forth and both knew right away that we had found someone special. I had just gotten out of a relationship, and Annie had just started dating women so we were both nervous and treading lightly for a little bit!

We both fell hard and fast and knew we had found our person fairly quickly. We both clicked instantly with each other’s friends and our parents. They’ve all told us that they could see that this relationship was different and we would be together for a very long time. In our first six months together, I graduated from graduate school, started a new job, and moved into a new apartment only a few miles from Annie. We started talking about what was next during the summer and early fall and both had a moment on the same vacation that we had found the one we would spend forever with. We both started planning proposals in early 2020 – both asking each other’s parent(s) for permission. We had BIG plans for our respective proposals, and then COVID-19 and quarantine took its toll.

We are both teachers, so we were quickly flung into a new environment and all of a sudden quarantining and living together – which made proposals infinitely harder to keep secret. We both reworked our plans, got temporary rings since ours were stuck at the jeweler, and forged ahead, unknowingly planning for the same exact date! Annie proposed in the morning of April 25th on a hike, on a secluded bridge. I followed up (WAY more nervous than the day before!) that evening with a dining room picnic featuring our favorite restaurant’s takeout, champagne, and a homemade Adventure Book (from the movie UP!) full of our memories.
